Internationales Tribunal
1986 fand ein mehrtägiges Tribunal in der Gedenkstätte am Bullenhuser Damm statt. Das Tribunal war mit Jurist:innen aus den verschiedenen Ländern vertreten, die von der Besatzung der Nationalsozialisten betroffen waren. Den Vorsitz hatte der ehemalige Verfassungsrichter Martin Hirsch.
The aim of the tribunal was to shed light on the events surrounding the Bullenhuser Damm murders and to investigate why Arnold Strippel, one of the main suspects in the case, was not brought to justice. The legal background of the many years of inaction by the German judiciary regarding Nazi criminals was also examined.
During the trial, excerpts from the transcripts of the 1946 "Curiohaus Trial" were read, and witnesses, relatives, and expert witnesses were heard. According to the lawyers, the delay was inexcusable and exemplifying how perpetrators were treated by the judiciary.
Chaim Altman, der Onkel von Mania Altman, beim Tribunal am Bullenhuser Damm. Chaim Altman emigrierte in der Nachkriegszeit zusammen mit seiner Frau Hilde und Manias Mutter in die USA. Pola Altman starb 1971 in Chicago. Sie erfuhr bis zu ihrem Tode nicht, wie ihre Tochter ermordet wurde.
Ende der 1980er Jahre drehte die Journalistin und und Autorin Lea Rosh einen Dokumentarfilm über das von der Vereinigung durchgeführte Tribunal.
