What we do

We support the work of the memorial. It is now an institution of the municipal Hamburg Memorials and Learning Sites Foundation. For example, we work with them to design the program for the Long Night of Museums and develop exhibitions and new educational offerings such as the digital remembrance game "Erinnern. The children from Bullenhuser Damm".

As part of civil society, we are involved in the further development of the district and thus the area surrounding the memorial and the rose garden. We are discussing the question of how the former school building will be used in the future and linked to the operation of the memorial with other committed people in the district and with representatives of the city.

Every year, we organize the memorial service, which is regularly attended by relatives from all over the world. We design the program with Hamburg schoolchildren and artists.

We maintain contact with relatives - now also in the next generation.

We are a member of the Hamburg counseling network against right-wing extremism.

We bring our traveling exhibition to schools and initiate workshops for and with students. In doing so, we not only pass on the history but also discuss group-related misanthropy today.

We develop new material such as flyers, multilingual catalogs and this website to provide information about history and illustrate how it relates to today.

We are active on social media and connect our work there with that of other initiatives and committed individuals.
