Familie Hornemann

In 1979, Ans van Staveren, aunt of the Hornemann brothers, learned of the fate of the two boys. She was the only one to survive the Shoah. She remained in contact with the association Kinder vom Bullenhuser Damm e.V. until her death in 2008 at the age of 103. She never came to the memorial service in Hamburg: "As long as such murderers are protected, it is impossible for me to come to Germany."
